The Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) have issued yellow alert on most parts of the island nation over worsening weather.

According to the weather forecast authority, the alert have been issued to the islands between Haa Alif atoll and Faafu atoll.

The yellow alert on the said region were issued from 08:00hrs until 12:00hrs of Thursday, 28 May.

Weather forecast authority expect heavy rainfall accompanied with thunder and lightning for the alert issued region.

Moreover, seas are expected to be rougher in the parts the authority have issued alert, noting wind speeds may pick up pace of 45 miles per hour.

The island nation is currently experiencing its Western-Hemisphere season or the rainy monsoon; which unlike the sunny monsoon is often accompanied with heavy rain and strong gusts.
