Health Minister Abdullah Ameen says even if the lockdown of Male’ Area would be gradually eased starting tomorrow; the government offices would remain closed for now.

Speaking to the media, Minister Ameen said that the government decided to ease the lockdown measures currently in place as the rate of infection in the country has been brought down from 3.8 to 1.4.

He said that with this the first phase of the lockdown ease would go into effect on the 28th but government offices would not open during the first phase.

He said the lockdown would be eased in several phases and along with government offices, schools, mosques, public parks and spaces would remain closed for the next two weeks.

The Minister noted the café and restaurants would be allowed to make deliveries in the first two weeks and that patrons can make takeaways from eateries during the second phase.
