Health Protection Agency HPA says four more individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.
In a tweet, HPA said that 4 locals have tested positive for Covid-19. These new cases take the total number of positive cases in the country to 1094.
Fifty-nine people have recovered from the illness here in the Maldives, most of them local who had contracted the virus.
Four people have died of Covid-19 in the Maldives including an elderly married couple aged 83 and 88 years. Also an 80-year-old local man and a 33-year-old Bangladeshi national have died of the global pandemic here in the Maldives.
Authorities are ramping up preventive measures taken against the illness with the surge of positive cases expected to increase in the coming weeks.
