A foreigner has been found dead at Soneva Jani Resort in Noonu Atoll of the Maldives last night.
Maldives Police Services said the resort reported the incident of a foreigner found drowned to death on the island around 20:30hrs last night. Police said the person had fell into the sea while working in a villa of the resort.
Although the police identified the person as a foreigner, the police did not give details on the person nationality. Police said that it was further investigating the incident.
Several such cases have surfaced in the resorts in recent months. Last month an Imaam from JW Mariot Maldives and Spa jumped into the sea and have yet to be found.
