National Emergency Operations Center Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says a laborer working for State Trading Organization STO’s Supermarket has tested positive and the store has been closed.
Briefing the local media on the latest developments of Covid-19, Mabrook said the store was closed for disinfection.
He said the STO storage facility on Ameenee Magu of Male’ has also been closed. He added that the COSTO labor quarter has been placed under monitoring.
Previously, a security guard who works for STO was tested positive for Covid-19. But none of its outlets or facilities was closed then. Also, STO’s subsidy Fuel Supply Maldives reported a positive case and its petrol sheds have been closed down since.
STO is active in supplying essentials goods and medical supplies across the country with its demand surging during the Covid-19 crisis.
