Ministry of Education postpones the GCE O’level, IGCSE, and SSC exams scheduled for Oct/Nov of this year amid the Covid-19 crisis now gripping the nation.

In a statement, the Ministry said it opted to postpone the exams because, with the closure of schools as a precautionary measure against Covid-19, there would not be efficient time to complete the entire syllabus. It also said students studying in Grade 10 would not get efficient time to familiarize themselves with the whole syllabus and prepare for the exams.

The Ministry also said assignment deadlines for students currently undertaking BTEC studies would also be revised.

It said the Ministry was working to re-schedule the postponed exams and it would take into consideration the students plights before making their decisions.

Although secondary exams have been postponed, exams for students studying in key stage 5 (Grades 11 and 12) are yet to be delayed.
