IGMH Doctors confirm that five patients tested positive for Covid-19 are now being treated in the Intensive Care Unit ICU of Dharumavantha Hospital 11th floor DH11.
Giving more details on the matter, Dr. Moosa Hussain said 3 out of the five admitted in the ICU of DH11 had taken a turn for worse with complications reported for the patients. He clarified three of the patients have required oxygen supply and that although none of the patients were on the ventilator, their conditions were critical.
He also said four of the patients admitted in the ICU were locals.
This comes after the first confirmed Covid-19 related death in Maldives. An 83-year-old woman passed away yesterday after complaining of breathing difficulties. She was living in a house currently under monitoring following the discovery of Covid-19 positive cases from the house. Officials have confirmed that the samples have been taken from the deceased but that the results were only confirmed after her death.
A total of 280 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in the country
