National Emergency Operations Center NEOC Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says 130 Police Officers have been placed under quarantine.
Speaking at last night’s news briefing, Mabrook said 130 police officers have been placed under quarantine in relation to different cases of Covid-19.
He said several people are quarantined after each positive case following the contact tracing and it takes time to update information regarding each individual under quarantine. He added this meant that the actual number of police officers under quarantine is subject to change.
Although no police officer have yet tested positive for Covid-19, 5 MNDF officers have tested positive for the virus and several have been placed under quarantine following these cases.
Health Protection Agency HPA officials said 1 of the MNDF officers tested was from MNDF Headquarters Bandaara Koshi and two others from Military residences Kalhuthukalaa Koshi were also tested positive for Covid-19. Officials have identified 94 contacts for the three cases while 2 MNDF working at the Covid Village also tested positive for the virus.
