The premier authority of weather forecast in Maldives have issued white alerts to the south and central parts of the country in the wake of worsening weather conditions.
Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) have confirmed white alert have been issued starting from Kaafu Atoll to Addu Atoll (souther-most region of the country).
MET Office issued the alert at 21:00hrs on Monday evening, until 01:00hrs of early Tuesday.
The weather forecast authority expects heavy rainfall accompanied with thunder, to the white alert issued areas.
Earlier, the authority had issued out yellow alerts for atolls between Lhaviyani and Meemu. The yellow alert was issued around 17:15hrs of Monday afternoon which lasted into 19:00hrs of the evening.
