President's Office on Sunday has confirmed, Maldives President actively instructs and advises the COVID-19 task force through online web-conferencing.
Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who is currently residing at the the island nation's presidential palace; Muliaage continues to instruct the national task force in countering the viral disease.
President's Office confirmed the active involvement and regular sessions between the task force and president through Twitter on Saturday evening.
In the tweet, the official handle of the the President's Office read the meetings which are conducted virtually, have been ongoing since 07 March.
While Maldives President have virtually met the officials of the task force, Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen had met with the local media on Saturday.
During the press, Minister of Health confirmed discussions were underway to revise and change quarantine procedures. Minister Ameen cautioned the Maldives public to remain ready for self-quarantine within their residencies.
Meanwhile, Maldives have a total of 177 confirmed positive cases of the virus; inclusive of the 17 recoveries. While the island nation does not have any cases of fatality due the disease, a total of 158 are currently in treatment.
