Health Protection Agency HPA confirms that a total of 129 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.
In a tweet HPA said thirteen more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the country. HPA said this includes 12 Maldivians and one Bangladeshi national.
The Agency also said these individuals would now be transferred to isolation facilities.
HPA officials have said 60 Maldivians have so far tested positive for Covid-19 and that 69 foreigners have tested positive for the illness in the country.
This takes the total number positive cases in the Island Nation to 129.
The spike in positive cases was reported after a Maldivian national with no recent travel history tested positive for the global pandemic on the 15th of April. Since then 129 individuals have tested positive for the virus in the country as authorities now confirming that the virus is wide spread in the country.
