Maldives Opposition have presented a quick motion in light of several members of the public facing detriments amid the total lockdown across Male' City.
The motion, filed by opposition allied Maduvvari constituency member Adam Shareef stressed on multiple locals stranded in Maldives capital, unable to travel back to their island due to lockdown.
MP Shareef detailed most of these locals had visited the country's capital for medical urgencies and necessities.
The lawmaker further highlighted on individuals living on rent at the city becoming victims of eviction.
MP Shareef lambasted on the state's ambiguity on the issues regarding government's policies of providing relief for locals becoming homeless during the crisis.
He further bemoaned the government's inaction on assisting stranded locals unable to travel to their home islands.
The quick motion by the lawmaker was accepted with the approval of 66 members.
Meanwhile, rumors and reports have mounted of several landlords and building owners forcibly evicting the tenants over their inability to produce rent.
The island nation is currently experiencing one of the worst blows on its economy in recent history, in light of many major economic sectors coming to a standstill including tourism, food and restaurants as well as construction sector.
