Health Protection Agency HPA says a sample taken from a Maldivian national who was a direct contact of case 52 has tested positive for Covid-19. This confirmed that a total of 17 individuals were tested positive for the virus today alone.

In a tweet, HPA said the person would be moved to an isolation facility. HPA confirmed that with today’s latest case, the number of individuals tested positive have now reached 64.

A total of 84 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives.

Meanwhile, HPA had said an 80-year-old had tested positive for Covid-19 and the patient had been transferred Dharumavantha Hospital 11th floor, DH11 for close observation and monitoring. Officials had said the patient with several underlying health issues was in critical condition.

HPA had also confirmed that a member of the armed forces tested positive for Covid-19 today.
