Health Protection Agency (HPA) have confirmed the discovery of 08 new COVID-19 positive cases from Greater Male' Region.
The authority confirmed this moments ago through their official social media handles.
HPA reports cases MAV053 MAV054, MAV055, MAV056, MAV057, MAV058, MAV059 and MAV060 - all tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The infected have been confirmed as two Maldivian locals and six Bangladeshi nationals.
With this latest development, the total number of positive cases from Male' City have increased to 40.
As of now, the total number of cases found throughout Maldives have reached to 60 while 16 out of the infected have already made recoveries.
