Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr Abdulla Fairoosh says police would not hesitate when fining individuals who violate lockdown regulations currently in place in Male’ Area to deter the outbreak of Covid-19.
Briefing the media on the police work related to the Covid-19 lockdown of Male’, Fairoosh said individuals who are found out on the roads without a valid pass would be fined immediately and that police have abandoned issuing warning to such violators.
Fairoosh said even if the individual has a valid pass, if the person is found outside of the zone allocated for the pass, appropriate action would be taken without exemptions.
Fairoosh said deliveries services should continue amid the lockdown to provide essential goods.
He also said each household in Male’ area should be given the opportunities to go out to buy essential goods or run important errands during the lockdown.
Police had announced earlier that every three day one person from each household in Male’ City would be allowed outside for 1 hour.
