Authorities says a man was found lying dead on Majeedhee Magu of Male’ tonight.
Officials said a police patrol discovered the man around 20:31, lying near the junction connecting Asaree Goalhi and Majeedhee Magu. The man was taken to the military hospital Senahiya.
Citing the Hospital, MNDF officials said the man was declared dead when he was brought to hospital. Officials said the man had complained of chest pains before collapsing.
Officials also said the man was a 50-year-old Bangladeshi national.
Images of the collapsed man show another expat sitting near him while police and other expats worked in the background.
It is unclear whether man was treated as potential Covid-19 case or not.
Covid-19 global pandemic have escalated quickly in the country with 18 new cases reported in the last 24 hours including several expatriate workers who were living in the same quarters.
