Official spokesperson for Covid-19 Mohamed Mabrouk Azeez says the foreigner from Grand Park Kodhipparu who showed symptoms of Covid-19 has tested negative for the virus twice.
Briefing local reporters on the latest developments of the crisis, Mabrouk said the foreign national from Kodhipparu, who had been treated in Treetop hospital, had already been tested for the virus have shown Covid-19 like symptoms. He added that the sample was negative then as well.
Mabrouk clarified that the individual was transferred to Treetop hospital because the person required further medical services and the person was tested for Covid-19 again. He said the second test also came back negative and this result was reported earlier tonight.
Mabrouk said the resort would remain under monitoring until the TAG team from National Emergency Operation Center decides otherwise.
Twenty people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives including five Maldivians. Fourteen people have recovered from the illness here in the country.
