Islamic Ministry has extended the restriction placed on the five congregational prayers and Friday prayers in the greater Male’ region to the 11th of this month.
The Ministry said congregational prayers and Friday prayers would be restricted in Male, Hulhumale, Villimale and resorts near the Male area until the 11th of April.
The Ministry first announced these restrictions on the 18th of last month, after he government had declared a State of Public Health Emergency because of the Covid-19 crisis. This was the first time such a restriction was placed here in the Maldives.
Nineteen people have tested positive for Covid-19 here in the Maldives including four Maldivians. These four Maldivians came back from the UK and are currently the only covid-19 patients under treatment.
