Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday has visited to various venues where isolation facilities are developed to counter the COVID-19 virus.

The Maldives statesman visited to in-development facilities in Male' region to inspect and tour through the work-in-progress of these facilities.

President Solih, flanked with senior state officials including Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi along with Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen had paid to the in-development facility at Farukolhufuhi and the facility near TreeTop Hospital in Hulhumale'.

The statesman made inquiries about the ongoing development work of the two facilities as well as its operations, during his tour.

Maldives government is taking stern measures to flatten the curve of COVID-19 proximity of spread in the island nation; with several strict counter-measures which includes travel and arrival bans on 11 countries as well as prohibition of local guesthouses and city hotels from accepting new tourist bookings.

As of now, a total of 8 individuals who were treated in the isolation facilities in Maldives have been confirmed of recovery from the virus while 5 remains in treatment.

The island nation confirmed a total of 13 positive cases initially.
