President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih assures Ramadan allowance will be given to all employees even as the country’s economy falters amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Speaking the media earlier today, President Solih said government has not plan to cut employee salaries and confirmed that all employees will receive the annual Ramadan allowance.

President Solih said Maldives would enter a full lockdown in the next 24 hours as the country’s fight against Covid-19 intensifies.

He said authorities would stop issuing on-arrival visa to foreigners starting next Friday and government offices, schools and universities will remain closed for one more week.

Speaking to the press for the first time since the crisis began, President Solih called on the nation to remain steadfast and to continue following government instructions and recommendations.
