The 15-year-old boy who went missing while snorkeling in Alifu Dhaalu Maamigili has been found dead in the sea.
The boy was one of the four who went snorkeling earlier today and was reported missing around 7 tonight, confirmed the police.
Authorities launched a search and rescue operation for the boy once he was reported missing. Authorities stated that the missing boy was found in the sea outside Maamigili and that he was rushed to the health Center.
Local media reported that the boy had seperated from his friends to go snorkeling in a different area and when they could not find him after two attempts, reported him missing.
The police are expected to release more information about the case.
The incident follows the tragic death of a 17-year-old boy in a traffic accident in Male' on Sunday.
