The Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirms suspected cases from Summer Island Resort have come negative for the presence of COVID-19.
HPA commented seven individuals were quarantined for the possible presence of the viral strand due to showing close symptoms of the pandemic.
The agency confirms a total of seven individuals were placed under isolated treatment to assess presence.
Following the confirmation all suspected individuals to COVID-19 came negative, the tourist resort has since lifted its transportation lockdown.
The resort claimed two tourists vacationing at the island along with the in-house doctor have been transported to Farukolhufushi for isolated treatment. They were transferred to the quarantine venue on Sunday.
HPA further commented the symptoms of COVID-19 were suspected from two French tourists, aged between 20 to 30 years. They had arrived to Maldives on 25 February and was staying at Summer Island.
The resort island's in-house doctor has been since identified as a 33 year old Indian national.
