Two launches collided just outside of Male' earlier today in a serious maritime incident.
Reports said the captain of one of the vessels got stuck in the wreckage after the collision and that he suffered major blood loss.
One of the vessels involved in the accident sustained heavy damage while the other vessel fled the scene.
Police said that the 38-year-old man was rushed to the state-run IGMH for treatment. They also said that two people were inside the launch when it collided with the vessel that fled the scene.
However, they did not give any more information about the second individual in the launch and added that they were further investigating the incident.
