The former Minister of Housing Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has been summoned by Maldives Police Service.

The Minister of Housing, during former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom's administration, has been ordered to present himself to the local law enforcement authority's premises on Saturday evening at 20:00hrs.

While Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), of which Dr. Muizzu is a senior member, confirmed this to media the party had not disclosed any details regarding his summoning order.

It has been reported the Maldives Attorney General's Office has filed a case against Dr. Muizzu at Maldives Police regarding the arbitration case of Noomadi Resorts and Residence.

Police confirmed all necessary documents from state institutions regarding the case have been submitted to the authority and they were reviewing them.

A statement from Attorney General's Office noted Dr. Muizzu had testified against the government as a witness from the defendent; Noomadi.

However, Dr. Muizzu has been alleged to have spoken in defense of the administration during his tenure as the Minister of Housing.
