The Maldives Third-Way Democrats (MTD) in a press statement congratulated the island nation's re-admission to Commonwealth.

In the statement, MTD had congratulated on Maldives becoming the 54th member of the world organization while the party's secretariat noted "joining the Commonwealth was one of the very first decisions taken by the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his cabinet."

Moreover, MTD also claimed the re-admission of Maldives will not only prove beneficial to the current generation of the country's population but the future generations as well.

Furthermore, the comparatively young political party's secretariat had in their press statement acknowledged Commonwealth's role as an "indispensable partner" to the development of Maldives.

In addition to this, MTD praised Commonwealth's unhindered stance in supporting the protection and promotion of human rights, adding the world organization understands and assists in the "struggle for justice and equality amongst the people of its member countries."

The Maldives Third-Way Democrats had further highlighted Commonwealth's assistance to the country in the countrymen's efforts for a peaceul transition to a democracy.

Most importantly, MTD urged the current administration to implement stricts laws to protect against withdrawing from the Commonwealth without a public referendum coupled with a two-third majority approval of the Maldives parliament.
