Maldives Police Service has arrested an elderly citizen for sexual abuse on a minor from a northern island of the country.
According to police, the case was reported from one of the islands under the jurisdiction of the North Police Division.
The report claims an 11 year old minor, a local boy, was sexuall abused by an elderly citizen. Police had received the report on 09 December 2019.
Maldives Police confirm they had arrested a 60 year old local man as the prime suspect of the case on 27 January around 12:00hrs.
Furthermore Police had also confirmed they were currently investigating the case for further details.
