The Maldives Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has rejected the President nominated Judge to the country's apex court.

Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih earlier sent the name of Judge Abdul Rauf Ibrahim for the commission's consideration as the Supreme Court's newest addition to its Judges' bench.

The Judicial Service Commission in a statement on Thursday claimed the president nominated judge has three distinct complaints lodged against him at the commission.

Judge Abdul Rauf, who previously was an appointed judge at Maldives High Court, was rejected by commission for the apex court's bench after their assessment on the complaints received.

Maldives President had sent his nomination for the apex court for JSC's consideration on 28 November 2019.
