The Maldives Police Service's major operation, titled 'Riveli' concludes on Saturday, 04 January 2020.
According to authorities under the wide-scale operation a total of 17 arrests were made regarding various breaches and violations.
The statistics disclosed by Maldives Police for the operation carried out from 22 December until 04 January indicates 19 cases of robbery and looting apart from the arrests.
During the operation, police had halted 306 individuals with previous criminal records for questioning while 248 individuals who do not possess any previous records were halted for inquiries.
Moreover, a total of 381 individuals with criminal records were halted for inspection while another 134 individuals withou such records were stopped for inspection as well.
Additionally, Police reports 825 vehicles out of the 3,281 inspected were found in violation of traffic and road regulations.
