The Maldives Commissioner of Prisons has received a Criminal Court subpoena summoning him to the premises.
According to local sources, Commissioner of Prisons Abdulla Munaz was summoned to Criminal Court over a controversial tweet he posted on the popular micro-blogging platform.
As per Maldives Criminal Court, CP Munaz's tweets posit a negative image of the judicial authority.
Reports confirm the Commissioner of Prisons was summoned to exact the basis and reasoning of his tweet.
Local news confirmed Munaz was subpoenaed to attend the court at 13:00hrs on Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner was unavailable to comment on the situation.
Previously, CP Munaz was a member of the President initiated Death and Disappearances Commission.
