Police have rescued 48 people onboard a launch that capsized while on its way to Male'.
The launch was traveling from Alifu Dhaalu Dhigurah when it capsized.
Police said that they received a report of the launch taking on water around 8 in the morning. They also said that the launch was carrying 45 passengers and 3 crew members. The passengers included 4 children.
Police also said that they dispatched its Emergency Response Team to the scene and that they rescued the passengers and crew that were stranded in the sea.
They confirmed that all the individuals were alright and that they had now been taken back to Dhigurah.
Police added that they were further investigating the incident.
