Minister of Homeland Security and Technology has ordered employers of foreigners working in the Greater Male' area to ensure their biometric data is updated before next month.
The Ministry instructed in a statement to coordinate with the Ministry's Foreign Labor department to collect fingerprint and photographic information about foreigners working in the Greater Male' area Male', Hulhumale', and Villimale'.
It also said that employers must update the information before the 15th of March.
The Ministry warned that employers who do not update biometric information before the 15th of next month would be suspended and eventually kicked out of the Expat system.
It indicated a joint operation center has been set up at the National Center for Information Technology for the Operation Kurangi (Expat biometric data collection program) and that the center would be open on all days except Fridays between 09:00 in the morning and 10:00 in the evening.
