Police say they have arrested 3 individuals in the murder case of Abdul Rahman Adam from Alifu Alifu Maalhos.
They did not give any other information about the suspect but said they would release more soon.
Reports have said that all three individuals are from the same island.
The 65-year-old was killed while sleeping in his own home in Maalhos and suffered fatal injuries to his head. An autopsy also confirmed that Abdul Rahman succumbed to his death due to the blows to his head.
Police have been careful in their investigation, with little to no information offered about the developments in the case.
But media reports have confirmed that police searched data on Abdul Rahman's phone in the course of the investigation.
His wife was the first person to discover Abdul Rahman after his attack and later notified health officials.
