President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that this Administration prioritises information disclosure, to levels Maldivians had not experienced before.
He made the statement at the official reception held to commemorate the one year in office.
In his address, the President reflected on his Administration’s track record of public disclosure.
He noted that the Administration had responded to around 91 percent of Right to Information (RTI) requests.
As such, in the spirit of proactive public disclosure, he noted that the Government had created dedicated websites for publication of government and cabinet news.
Additionally, he said that members of the Cabinet had interacted with the media 791 times and held 73 press conferences in the past 52 weeks, in addition to directly responding to public queries filed to the Citizen’s Voices portal.
Continuing his address, the President appealed to the media to adhere to tenets of fair and factual reporting, reflecting on his Administration’s efforts to assist media development.
