The man who was arrested for alleged sexual assault against his daughters and a female relative has been remanded in custody for 30 days.
Police had said that the case was reported to the police on Saturday night after a father was accused of sexually assaulting his two daughters and a female relative in Male'.
The 42-year-old local man was arrested yesterday under a court-issued order. Today the Criminal Court remanded him in custody for 30 days.
Police say they are investigating the case.
This case emerged days after Police reported another sexual assault on an island south of the country. Police said that the case involved a girl below the age of 18 but some sources have reported that two girls were assaulted in the case.
