President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has called on Maldivians to prioritise faith, sincerity, and trustworthiness for the sake of the nation. He appealed in his address to the country on the occasion of this year’s National Day.

In his address, the President emphasised that prioritising sincerity and trustworthiness is key to achieving holistic national development through the Administration’s development efforts and the public’s progressive thinking.

Underscoring the individual responsibility of adhering to the tenets of Islam, the President said that National Day was a time to renew personal and collective goals. He urged every Maldivian to recognise the sacrifices and valiance of the national heroes, noting that their example points the way forward to a prosperous and peaceful Maldives.

The President further highlighted that Maldivian independence and responsibility to nationhood are built upon mutual respect and brotherly love, reiterating that true nationhood carries obligations as well as rights.

He affirmed the Government’s commitment to advancing development but stressed that real progress begins with individual growth. He said passing on the values of nationhood to the next generation is essential, highlighting the role of the youth in shaping the country’s future.
