The Managing Director of Male Water and Sewerage Company Ltd MWSC Abdul Matheen Mohamed says the company will complete 22 projects that were assigned to other companies but have now been stalled for various reasons.

Speaking on PSM, Matheen said that with the change of government, many projects started in the Atolls have been left unfinished.

Matheen said 25 such projects were identified and that all but two would be completed this year.

He further said that projects in 5 islands have already been completed and that 85 percent of some projects have been completed while 95 percent of others have been completed.

The Managing Director of MWSC noted that the water and sanitation systems in some islands were run down and that Maafushi is one such island.

He added that the company has submitted a proposal to replace the system and construct water and sewerage works in the newly dredged area of ​​the island.
