President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has declared tomorrow a government holiday due to the relentless weather conditions affecting major parts of the country.
This was confirmed by the Presidential Spokesperson Heena Waleed via X a while ago.
Heena said that the President has declared tomorrow a government holiday as a relief to students and workers who are facing difficulties in traveling and walking due to heavy rains.
The President assured the people that the government would continue to work day and night with special priority to minimize the damage caused to houses and families and provide assistance to the people.
The Greater Male area as well as northern and Southern Atolls have been experiencing relentless rainfall in the last 24 hours. Many areas of the capital Male' are flooded and authorities are working to minimize damage to houses and properties.
