President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu says the Chinese-funded Male' road development project would bring a permanent solution to the flooding problem in the capital city.
This comes as the crowded city appears to be vastly flooded amid relentless rain since earlier this morning.
In a post on X, the President said that one of the most important objectives of the road development project to improve all the roads in the city is to solve the flooding in the city.
He said the project, funded by aid from China, will provide a permanent solution to the long-standing flooding problem in the city. He further said that road developments for the islands would be implemented as planned every year.
The President also assured that the Government will continue to give top priority to assist all those affected by the rains.
He added that the the necessary efforts to reduce the damage to public life, houses, and property during such heavy rains will be carried out with the cooperation of all parties.
