Police have arrested another individual for the possession of drugs at Velaana International Airport.
The Aviation Security Command said two packets of suspected drugs were recovered from a passenger on a Maldivian flight scheduled to fly to Colombo at 17:13 yesterday.
Aviation Security Command also said that the individual has been handed over to local authorities. No other information about the individual has been released, and Police are yet to comment on the case.
Recently, Police arrested a woman from Velaana International Airport for the possession of drugs. Police said that when they searched the 30-year-old woman, they discovered 209 grams of drugs in her possession. Police said that they confiscated two rubber packets of drugs from her person.
They also said that the Criminal Court remanded the suspect in custody for five days.
Police are further investigating the case.
