The Managing Director of State Electric Company Ltd Stelco Hussain Fahmy says that compared to last month, 94 percent of the electricity bills have decreased this month.
Speaking at a press conference held by Stelco today, Fahmi said the number of complaints received about electricity bills this month was lower than in other months.
However, Fahmy said that 6 percent of the bills from Male' are unusually high and that the company would look into these bills. He also said that 15 percent bills from Hulhumale' were also exceedingly high and that a team from Stelco would go to these apartments to determine the spikes.
Fahmi said a team from Stelco will go to the apartments in Male' and Hulhumale' where the bills are unusually high and conduct an energy audit to check the equipment used in the apartments and the ventilation of the apartments.
Earlier, Fahmi said that if the services provided by Stelco are weakened, the country's economic independence will be weakened and the country's economic independence cannot be ensured without electricity.
Fahmi said Stelco will never cheat the people in providing services to the people.
