The Parliament has rejected an emergency motion filed by MDP today in Parliament for not depositing the money due to the students on government scholarships and student loan schemes.

The motion was filed by MDP's PG Leader, the MP for Hithadhoo South Constituency Ibrahim Nazil.

MP Nazil's motion said that some students have faced difficulties in paying their fees due to delays in receiving their deposits from the government.

The MP said that the students have not received any information about the matter from the government. He called on the government to make the deposits effective immediately and criticized that the government has being extravagant in its spending.

When the Presidency asked the House to decide whether to accept the matter and debate it, the matter was dismissed with 59 votes out of 71 members present.
