President Dr Mohamed Muizzu sent a message expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him on behalf of the Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley and the Government of Barbados.

This was during his stopover in Barbados on his way back to the Maldives after concluding his visit to Antigua and Barbuda to attend the Fourth International Conference of Developing Small Island Countries (SIDS4).

Upon arrival at Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA), the President was warmly received by the Hon. C. Sandra V. Husbands, M.P., Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Foreign And Foreign Trade, and Ms Resa Layne, Chief of Protocol.

Later, the President and his delegation went on a sightseeing tour of the important, beautiful, and historical sites in Barbados near the airport.

In his message to the Prime Minister, President Muizzu said that he was delighted to witness the beauty of Barbados firsthand during his short transit in Barbados today.

The President insisted that he is leaving with fond memories of the Prime Minister's generous hospitality, as the Maldives delegation was guided through the wonderful landmarks and stunning natural beauty.

We, in the SIDS, are inspired by your leadership and advocacy on behalf of SIDS, especially on the reform of the international financial architecture. This is a priority for my Government as well. I hope we can work together on this front as we work towards implementing the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS.
