President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed on a Friday visit to St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, to attend the fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
During the Summit, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will deliver the National Statement at the Plenary of the Summit on 27 May 2024.
The President's Office said that the President is scheduled to meet with several foreign dignitaries and deliver remarks at some of the side events of the Summit.
President Dr Muizzu is also one of the Vice Presidents of the Conference and Co-chair of one of the five interactive dialogues, organized by the UN at the conference.
The Conference on SIDS is held once a decade. One of the highlights of the fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) is adopting the new Programme of Action, the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS. This conference is held under the overarching theme of "Charting the course toward resilient prosperity."
