President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured the Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) of Addu City that the Administration will prioritize the city’s economic advancement while implementing development plans.
He said this in a meeting with them during his visit to the Southernmost city.
During the meeting, the Council discussed ways to improve health services and address issues with access to medications, water sanitation, powerhouses, the electricity sector, and ports.
The Council members also discussed social and infrastructure development in Addu City, including housing, sports facilities for youth, creating jobs, land reclamation in Hulhudhoo-Meedhoo, road construction, and concerns of farmers and fishermen. The Women's Development Committee of Addu City discussed the city's social needs and financial challenges faced by the WDC.
Speaking at the meeting, President Dr Muizzu assured that the Administration would work alongside relevant authorities to seek solutions to the concerns raised.
The President further affirmed that the Administration will prioritize the city’s economic advancement while implementing development plans.
