Island Aviation has agreed to pay MVR 2.2 million in compensation for the dismissal of Transport Minister Mohammed Amin from the post of Director of Flight Operations.
Island Aviation fired Amin in February 2019 after pilots protested against him.
Amin filed the case in June, 2019 in the Civil Court. The court also ordered Amin to be given a position of the same level within 15 days and to be paid his salary and allowances.
Island Aviation has appealed to the High Court. While the case was pending in the High Court, the two parties reached an agreement and asked the High Court to dismiss the case. The case was dismissed on Sunday.
According to the report, Island Aviation has agreed to pay MVR 2,202,580.02 as compensation to Amin.
