Police have confirmed that a Special Constabulary Police officer who was reported missing last night from Addu City has been found dead.
They said that Officer, who works at the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement, was reported missing by his family last night around 12:40 after midnight.
Police said that they reported him missing after he failed to return home after Isha prayers last night.
They said that the Police in Addu City began a search operation for the missing officer last night and around 1:40 a.m. they found him near the Addu City Hithadhoo Swimming track area.
Police said that the man was rushed to Addu City Equatorial hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the hospital.
The officer was 22 years old.
Police added that they were further investigating the death of a fellow offiicer.
