Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed is set to retire next month.

In a message to a group with other Police top officials, CP Hameed said that he has always been someone who voices his opinions on matters and sticks to professional standards and that many have held this against him.

He said that when he took over the post of Commissioner of Police, the organization's name was in murky waters and that he worked to form unity among the ranks of the force, and this too by keeping aside his personal views and principles.

CP Hameed further said that the people expect more from the Police force and that they have to do more to meet these expectations.

He added that he would be sharing his emotions in the coming days.

The Commissioner then went on to highlight the achievements of the past five years and thanked the leadership of the police force for helping him in his time as the Commissioner.

CP Hameed further said that he plans to retire in the coming month and gave 11th of November as the date on which he would retire from the Police force.
