The Elections Commission has published the final voters' list ahead of the second round of voting for the Presidential Elections scheduled for next Saturday.

While a total of 282,394 voters were eligible for the first round of the Presidential Election, another 409 voters who turned 18 between the two rounds have now been added to the voters' list.

This takes the total number of eligible voters for the second round to 282,804.

A total of 224,786 voters cast their ballots in the first round of the election and the Elections Commission said that 38,763 voters re-registered for the second round as the place they voted in the first round changed for the second round.

While the Commission has today published the final voters' list, it decided to keep 12 more ballot boxes for the second round of the election as the number of voters who registered for the run-off increased.

It is now seeking officials for the 12 new ballot boxes.

While 8 candidates competed in the first round of the election, the run-off would be held between the two candidates who received the most votes in the first round of voting.

This means PNC Candidate Dr.Mohamed Muizzu would go head to head with MDP Candidate President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
