The Elections Commission reveals the countries in which it would place ballot boxes for the September Presidential Election.
Vice President of the Commission Ismail Habeeb said that ballot boxes would be placed in five cities in five countries. He said that this includes Trivandrum in India, the Sri Lanka capital, Colombo, Malaysian capital Kula Lampur, the UK's capital London and Abu Dhabi of UAE.
He explained that these cities were chosen as ballot destinations because of the high number of voter re-registration coming from these cities.
Habeeb also said that ballot boxes would be placed in 65 resorts across the country.
Yesterday, the Elections Commission said that 35,849 individuals re-registered ahead of the election as their registered address was different from their current address.
It said this includes 18,088 who applied online and another 17,761 who applied via the allocated form.
A total of 282,672 people are eligible to vote in the Election scheduled for 9th September.
