Police have arrested 6 foreigners who have been involved in the peddling of narcotics, alcohol, and banned drugs.
Police said that the 6 individuals were arrested in an anti-narcotics operation carried out last Friday. They said that the suspects include 2 28-year-old men, a 29-year-old man, a 31-year-old man, a 38-year-old man, and a 41-year-old man.
Police have identified the suspects as Bangladeshi nationals.
The Court has remanded the 29-year-old and 31-year-old for 10 more days in custody while the rest have all been remanded in custody for 15 more days.
Since all 6 suspects are undocumented workers in the Maldives, the Court considered their status when giving the remand extentions.
